The past 10 years of my physiotherapy career have been working in the fast paced, high acuity hospital setting. This was where I first learned about the lymphatic system and the benefits of manual lymphatic drainage, which led to this shift in my career.
Along this journey I have learned that regular lymphatic massage can play a major role in disease prevention and management of most health conditions. I am passionate about sharing this knowledge with the medical community and working in collaboration with other healthcare providers to utilize alternate, holistic practices to better manage our clients’ health and wellbeing.
I was born and raised in Toronto. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at McGill University followed by my Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Western University in 2012. For over 7 years I worked at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto directly with patients throughout their cancer journey, from newly diagnosed to well into survivorship. I was the physiotherapist for the breast cancer centre and worked closely with patients throughout different phases of their treatment to ensure the best possible outcomes of care. In 2020 I made the mid-pandemic move to Vancouver.
I have completed Level 1 – 3 of my Manual Lymph Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy education through the Dr. Vodder International School. I will be completing my lymph taping course in May 2024.
